Melissa Etheridge seperates from long term partner

Melissa Etheridge well known for being a singer/songwriter has seperated from her long term partner Tammy Lynn Michaels, the actress from L word.

Melissa and Tammy exchanged vows in September 2003 in Malibu. Tammy got pregnant in 2006 via an anonymous sperm donor and they had twins. They called them Miller Steven and Johnnie Rose.



Etheridge's PR representative confirmed the news via US magazine, People, saying: "Melissa and Tammy Etheridge are saddened to announce that they are now separated."



"They ask for consideration and respect as they go through this difficult period."



Melissa additionally has two children, son Beckett Cypher and daughter Bailey Jean Cypher, with her former partner Julie Cypher.
