A militant group has issued a severe threat to the creators of the animated series 'South Park', for their portrayal of the prophet Mohammed in a chapter that has been issued.
"We have to warn Matt [Stone] and Trey [Parker] that what they do is stupid and probably will end up like Theo Van Gogh by ending their program," says an article issued on the web RevolutionMuslim.com. The site also broadcast a graphic picture of the Dutchman filmmaker, who was murdered in 2004 by an extremist by a film accusing Islam of supporting violence against women. Likewise, Muslim Revolution posted a link to a story with details of the house they own in Colorado Parker and Stone, which suggests that webmasters know where to find the creators of the cartoon series. The episode in question was issued last week on the cable channel Comedy Central. In episode 200 of South Park, the prophet appears in a bear costume. 'South Park' has a long history of political satires, and media celebrities and their episodes have drawn criticism on several occasions. On Wednesday, the Muslim Revolution website was falling as the group called an overload of traffic. The group's leader, Abdullah Muhammad Younus, defended the warning. "How is that a threat? Show a case of what happened with another individual who behaved very similarly? Only evidence." According to Muhammad, his group "did not tell anyone 'go home and compórtense with violence'" and añadio'que not worried about his post Parket provoke an assault or Stone. Revolution Muslim leader has described her group as an alternative media, with 20 people who contribute to updating. Members also participate in lectures in mosques. "Why should someone who is planning to commit a violent act RevolutionMuslim.com need a post?" |
