Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor: a gay love story....prohibited

That a film of a story of two actors of the stature of Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor not only is no longer the key to success at the box office, but neither is it a sure theatrical release. The lastest film of both, 'I love you Phillip Morris', was exhibited for the first time on January 18, 2009 at the Sundance Film Festival and since then, their paths to exit has become an ordeal.

After some trouble finding distribution and two delays in the release date, the production company a few weeks ago announced the debut of the film on the big screen U.S. indefinitely postponed, and then had a limited release on 30 April. In an industry where even Paris Hilton has managed to display 'Pledge This! ", What problem has' I love you Phillip Morris" got for taking so long to see the light in their own country?

The fact that the film shows a love story between two gay seems to have been one of the triggers of the long process, according to several media targets. The love scenes between Carrey and McGregor, which a usually would be a good publicity stunt, don't appear to be the taste of the American public, so that even the Canadian actor initially did not accept the role. And now, the bad omens have become reality.
